Dr. Raymond M. Olson Performance Grants

“We need a place. We need a place where we can perform. We need a place where we can exhibit.
We need a place where we can simply come together.”

-Dr. Raymond M. Olson

Named for our visionary arts advocate and founder who coined the phrase “ We Need A Place” this program supports the dreams of local artists by providing local nonprofit arts organizations and BAPAC resident companies financial assistance to make usage of the BAPAC theatre facilities more accessible.

Under the purview of the TOARTS Board of Directors, the Theatre Performance Credits program is designed to provide local nonprofit organizations with financial assistance to make usage of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza’s Bank of America Performing Arts Center (BAPAC) theatre facilities more accessible.

The Dr. Raymond M. Olson Performance Grants are available to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts group who has reserved a performance date at either the Fred Kavli Theatre or the Janet and Ray Scherr Forum in the fiscal year for which the grant is being requested. Successful applicants will receive a Theatre Credit and funds will be allocated only upon certification of the completion of specified performance. TOARTS performance credits will be awarded based on available funds.

Application grant cycle will run for a period of 30 days generally from early April to early May.

The 2020-21 Grant Cycle is closed. ALL applications are on pause due to the inability for any performances to occur at BAPAC. When the theatre can reopen safely, we will reassess grant applications.
