Olson Performance Grants

“We need a place. We need a place where we can perform. We need a place where we can exhibit.
We need a place where we can simply come together.”

-Dr. Raymond M. Olson

Named for our visionary arts advocate and founder who coined the phrase “ We Need A Place” this program supports the dreams of local artists by providing local nonprofit arts organizations and BAPAC resident companies financial assistance to make usage of the BAPAC theatre facilities more accessible.

The Dr. Raymond M. Olson Performance Grants are available to any 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts group who has reserved a performance date at either the Fred Kavli Theatre or the Janet and Ray Scherr Forum in the fiscal year for which the grant is being requested. Successful applicants will receive a Theatre Credit and funds will be allocated only upon certification of the completion of specified performance. TOArts performance credits will be awarded based on available funds.

Applications open on May 1 for the following fiscal year (May 1, 2024, for FY2024-25), and grant funding is limited. We highly recommend applying sooner rather than later. Applicants may apply for only one grant per fiscal year, but they can be for multiple performances that fall within the same fiscal year. (July 1 – June 30)
