A Dream for this Midsummer Night
Summer is in full swing—a time to rest, recharge, and step away from the pressures of daily life. Whether it’s a vacation, time with loved ones, or simply a quiet moment, it’s also a chance to reconnect and refill our creative spirit.
At TOArts, summer also means welcoming young artists into the Bank of America Performing Arts Center (BAPAC), where the halls come alive with music, laughter, and imagination. Our Summer Creators Conservatory offers high school students the chance to grow their talents across artistic disciplines while learning from industry professionals. The program is led by our new Programs and Development Director, Casey Comstock-Mills, who officially joined our team with the start of the fiscal year on July 1.
The new year also brings a leadership transition—one that’s been thoughtfully planned for some time, and now, the time has come. As shared during last fall’s CURTAIN UP! 30th anniversary celebration, I have officially passed the baton of Executive Director to Niki Chopra Richardson. Niki and I work closely together; I’ve witnessed as she set and met ambitious goals and bold plans. With her dedication to the community and genuine love of helping people transform their lives through the arts, I am confident that TOArts will soar to new heights.
Serving as Executive Director over the past five years, alongside my role as Cultural and Community Services Director for the City of Thousand Oaks, has been an honor. I’m deeply grateful to our Board, staff, City Council, City leadership, and most of all, to you—our donors, sponsors, and supporters. Your generosity has allowed us to expand arts education, invest in young artists, and bring world-class performers to our beautiful theatres.
My dream for this midsummer night is to continue building programs that uplift and inspire. Making a place Where the Arts Thrive for All isn’t just our vision—it’s a reality we’re creating together.
Cheers to a summer of creativity, exploration, and transformation!
See you at the theatre,

Jonathan Serret, Outgoing Executive Director
